What made the '83 recordings so kick a*s was the rawness of the low fi sound. It added a dimension of spookiness to it that this 2009 version, no matter how crisp it is, just can't touch. Let's face it, king has lost his haunting edge. Leave the re-recording of these tracks to other bands on tribute albums. Frankly, this seems rather cashing in if I must say. What is this crap about a Don't Break The Oath sneaker? King, if all you and MF are gonna do is put out sneakers with 80's album art on it then give it up. Seriously. Just quit. The last KD album had "dark" and "cold" as every other lyric and was self-plagiarism from beginning to end. I have been a die hard fan for years and have even flown halfway across the US just to see a show when he was not booked in my area, but lately I've felt duped and ripped off. In a word, I am disappointed. Sure, their albums are cleaner sounding and you can hear every nuance of every instrument, but their sound is sterile, soulless and void of the eerie passion it once had. It sounds like they are faking it now. When these songs were originally recorded they didn't have all the bells and whistles that digital audio recording has today. Because of that they had to rely on their craft and talent to make do with what they had and use it in an artistic way that would get their haunting visions across. Now they rely too much on the digital end to clean it up and it bores me to tears to listen to them. Don't be a fool and buy crap just because KD's name is on it. The name used to mean something. It could again if he could just get his balls back.

I mean, King's vocals aren't as perfect as they were back in the 80's and 90's, but these are great re-recordings overall if you like King.
