A magic carpet ride!

The pace is fast and you never stop having a good time as it moves from one concise idea to the next--with lots and lots of variation over the course of the 6 tracks. It's a magic carpet ride!

Accessible without being simplistic, complex but easy to dance to, "Pink and Purple" is a revelation. Alan Wilkis seems to pull his songs from the ether that surrounds us all. It is at once familiar, as though the music existed all the time but only took Mr. Wilkis' rare innovative skill to illuminate the brilliantly shaded notes and beats. At the same time, each song is highly original, the six of them combining to form a tight explosion of love-laden melodies and bouncing beats. The purchase of this album is worth every penny.
What's new is old
by P/L/WVery focused without being too intense. The songs remind me of very familiar music without being repetitive or trendy. Clearly bringing in a revival of music with meaningful lyrics and a range of textures.
