Blitzkrieg mit dem Fleischgewehr

Well, that´s ingenious! "Blitzkrieg mit dem Fleischgewehr" = Blitzkrieg with the meat-gun... yeah, it sounds better in german.

My take on the new single..

As far as I'm concerned, bands trying new things is a welcome gesture. Amidst all the crap out there that sounds the same and generic bands being mass-produced by the second, it's good to hear some originality. That's where Rammstein comes in. However, regarding their latest single, I truly can't back them on this.
While the music is alright, it certainly does not touch on their previous styles. Since Mutter, they have truly begin to go a bit too far outside their "box" by bringing female vocals into songs (which completely ruin it) and reaching areas of the musical spectrum that simply do not suit their goals as far as being the metal band they are.
Basically what I'm saying is that Rammstein's best moments came with their first three albums. Since then, they have begun to spiral into a void of experimentation that breaks them from their roots to such extremes that they ultimately lose the signature brutality that made them such an ethereally blistering listen. Their decision to start including English lyrics I believe hurt them more than helped them, and now with the painfully juvenile subject matter of their latest single, it is apparent that they are clearly stepping too far outside that "box". With lyrics any rapper could have penned out using their intellect's full potential, Rammstein have certainly made us wait in vain for something to give us hope that they would return strong after their massive failure, "Rosenrot".
However, this review is based solely upon the basis of this song. Rammlied does to some degree retain their original authenticity but I think the overall disappointment and lack of any sort of true creativity in the main attraction here (coupled with its disgusting video) has somewhat distanced me from them, being a devout fan from the first listen to their breakthrough album, and is unfortunately going to make their next release another that I will not find myself listening to from start to finish like I can with Herzeleid, Sensucht, and Mutter, without having to skip over any unnecessary clutter.

C'mon

It would be nice if the US version of itunes would release the newest album by rammstein like the German version. I've been waiting forever to finaly get my hands on this new album on here and itunes is lame enough to not have it. Thanks a lot.

Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany.
