Just one of those things where you don't understand why it gets so much attention.

I was listening to sirius hard attack and heard Jose mention that these guys are nominated for album of the year for "Axe To Fall." I know that Converge is one of the bands to engineer the genre mathcore, one of my favorite genres, but I just don't understand why people are praising this album. Its, okay, but mostly noise to me. Instead of this, get the album The Echo Verses by a very underrated mathcore band called The Arusha Accord. Seriously you guys won't be disappointed.

simply put, Converge is awesome

I will not say that I'm a musical officianado (hopefully i spelled that correctly) but I would like to think that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to something that I can not live without. That would be music. Overall, I believe this album to be outstanding like all the other works of Converge. It is a vital addition to the discography of an amazing band that I have fallen in love with. I will avoid picking what album is the best of theirs because I just think that Converge is superb so any of their works are works that I enjoy thoroughly, although I do enjoy that their works tend to have different tones, which helps set them apart. I appreciate what they do, what they are doing and what they plan/hope to do in future works.

The Boston-based quartet initially comprised vocalist/visual...
