iTunes Review

Carrie Underwood accomplishes a good deal on her third album Play On. She reconfirms her stature as one of country’s outstanding female vocalists while making a bold play for the pop marketplace. Play On gives her a batch of superior tunes to apply her sterling vocals to, ranging from sweet folk-country numbers (“This Time,” “Quitter”) to sleek ‘n’ sassy twang-rockers (“Undo It”). Underwood harkens back to her hit “Before He Cheats” by tearing into a gallery of two-timing boyfriends on scathing tracks like “Cowboy Casanova” and “Songs Like This.” Anger isn’t the predominant note here, though — themes of gratitude (“Mama’s Song”), idealism (“Change”) and spiritual affirmation (“Temporary Home”) lend this album a positive glow. Underwood shows her innate grace as a singer on two aching ballads, “Someday When I Start Loving You” and “What Can I Say” (the latter a duet with Sons of Sylvia’s Ashley Clark). She soars mightily on the title track, infusing it with the fire of a personal credo. Play On combines technical excellence with genuine heart.

Not country

If this is country music we are in trouble. Her albums should be sold next to Britany spears along with Taylor swift. Because if this IS country music then Husain Obama is a good President or should I say Prez

Play on CD!

This is a truly epic cd, there is really nothing wrong with it except that more songs would have been better, but who wouldn't agree with that. My absolute favorite song off this incredible album is "Temporary Home", which I happen to be listening to right now actually. Honestly every song is great, so if you are thinking of purchasing this album, you will not regret it, it's freaken awesome!!!

Carrie Underwood is a brilliant singer and songwriter, so I had no doubt that her third album would be just as wonderful as the rest. She did not disappoint! Play On is sure to produce many more number one singles for Carrie. My favorites:
Play On: such a wonderful message in this song. Dont give up when life is tough. Just keep playing the game.
Undo It: some relationships are better forgotten and erased, and this song expresses this perfectly with it's angry beat.
Songs Like This: short and sassy! Love it!
Unapologize: amazing vocals and story telling lyrics, which can only come from a true country singer, for those of you who doubt carries country title.
Quitter: this song has a very different beat for Carrie, but it is wonderfully written and tells her story perfectly.
This Time: beautiful love song, definitely sung with a certain hockey player in mind! <3
Cowboy Casanova: carries famous single gets better and better every time i listen to it! It's her typical angry song, but it's message is important: don't fall for the good-looking bad boys!
Temporary Home: the only song I have ever heard that made me cry. It is so beautifully written and has a very inspiring yet solemn message.
Change: another inspiring song which will surely end up on Idol Gives Back next season.
What Can I Say: carries voice blends perfectly with Sons of Sylvia in this powerful ballad. Very heart wrenching since it's about an ended relationship
Look At Me: it shows the power of a single look. Carries vocals are flawless in this song, and she shows off her magnificent vocal range
Mamas Song: what a beautiful song written by Carrie herself about the importance of her mother in shaping her present relationships.
Someday When I Stop Loving You: this song captures the hurt felt from an ended relationship, and the lyrics are very beautifully written.
And that's all of them! Hope you enjoyed my review! Carrie Underwood is the best singer ever! Give her a shot with this album because you won't be disappointed! Play On, Carrie!!!
