These mass settings are incredible! If you know anything about DURUFLE the composer, this is EXACTLY how it is supposed to sound! The words are original from Gregorian Chant, but he adds the instruments and harmonies. Click YES! because this is an amazing soundtrack and rich in meaning!!! This deserves no less than 5!

I only listened to some of the samples on iTunes, but to me the performance sounded sloppy. I wonder if the size of the recording space messed up all the counting. Even if it was together, you wouldn't really know because of the reverberant hall and likely a distant mic placement. I didn't listen to the things other than the Requiem. I hope they are better.

Whether it's choirs that don't know how to blend, an orchestra that doesn't know how to stay together, or any combination of choirs and instrumentalists that don't know how to play in tune, this gorgeous piece in its full orchestral version does not yet appear to have received the treatment it deserves. Sadly, this recording is no exception. In fact, this recording is one of the worst offenders: French Horns that sound like they're playing in a closet, an orchestra that can't keep the tempo together, subtleties that are entirely absent. Someday someone will do this piece the justice it deserves, an interpretation that is long overdue.
