iTunes Review

But a few years out of high school when they recorded this slyly sophisticated debut, PAD initially casts a familiar punk-pop spell (guitarist Ryan Ross and drummer Spencer Smith once toiled in a Vegas-based Blink 182 cover band), typified by the emo-core-on-steroids urgency of singer Brendan Urie on the snarky stand-out "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage." But the band quickly dispels notions of the formulaic with the nervy "London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines, " then busts the envelope of expectations wide open with the prog-meets-punk ethos of "Camisado," the Queen-channeling "Intermission" and the grand, genre-bending conceits of "But Its Better If You Do" and "Build God, Then We'll Talk." The band and producer Mint Squire may use the sonic trappings of contemporary musical fashion as lure, but they quickly transform them into something far more original, ambitious and intriguing.

From a My Chemical Romance fan...

I've been going back and looking at the music I used to listen to back in '06 and such, so I came to look at this album...The lyrics...Are just...Wow.
All i've heard are these little snippets, but wow, the lyrics are very in depth.
As thoe i'm being told a story, kinda like watching TV with well, the moniter.
I give it 4 stars because I can't exactly rate something 5 stars that I haven't heard fully...
That would just be strange...
This isn't my fancy in music, as I said, my favorite band is infact My Chemical Romance.
Or should I just say MCR...Eh, it's fun to type...
Thinking about it...
Panic! sounds quite a lot like Fall Out Boy...Or at least at first hear it does. I personally do not like Fall Out Boy, but dang...Panic! is just that good!
I'm surely going to buy this album sometime...I'm curious about the story...
Seems interesting.
And Brandon's voice is just to DIE for, of course from a bullet through the head of course.
...I had to pinch in some MCR in here...heh heh :)
But seriously, by listening to these snippets, this album has to be a good one.

Panic at the Disco is the greatest band ever. Their music inspires me and makes me very happy and excited when I listen to it. Every song is amazing. Most people only know of I Write Sins Not Tragedies. It's a very cool upbeat song but it's not their only song. What I love about this CD is that its not all about love songs its about more important things.

Introduction; it may not be very long but it is a great opening to this incredible album.
The Only Difference Between Martydom and Suicide Is Press Coverage; very upbeat and exciting. a good song to cheer you up and to dance to. The title, though seems irrelevant but almost intact with the song.
London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines; one of my favorites. it's upbeat and realistic lyrics makes me want to blast it to full volume! Although the true meaning of it may be decifered different ways by people i think its just a great song. An excellent alternative to annoying mushy love songs.
Nails For Breakfast Tacks For Snacks; Another amazing song. Its always stuck in my head but i dont mind. One of Ryan's best written songs.
Camisado; oh i dont know where to start. This song is just excellent. It's an interesting song that describes some things about hosptial life. One of my favorites.
Time To Dance; Every song on this album is my favorite but this song is above my standards. I dont know why butthis song always puts me in such a great mood. ;)
Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have----; As stated before I try to stay away from love songs but this song seems to seem like love at first but to me its more than that. It makes me think and I love listening to it.;) A great song to put on replay.
Intermission; This is a great break between the first and second half of the CD. Half is a dance theme and the other half is a nice piano interlude. This may represent the ablum itself. The first part of the album had this upbeat futuristic vibe. But going into the second part it has this slower but happy vibe.
But It's Better If You Do; Antoher great dance song. I love how PATD uses strong/ colorful wording on their songs especially this one!
I Write Sins Not Tragedies; This wedding-like song is known by most people. Some lyrics are incorporated with old words not many people use but still amazing. Example; I Chime In--
I Constantly Thank God For Esteban; I just love the nosalgic feel of this song. Sometimes I have dreams where I hear parts of this song in it. Probably because of the dreamy tone with a hint of a upbeat vibe.
There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered----; Another standard topping song. It seems to change moods but it really doesnt. For instance, Brendon in the song compares himself to cancer but then explains talking to the mirror and tellling yourself that I'm a diva. This may be a comparasion to what people hate: Cancers and divas.
Build God Then We'll Talk; A happy song with a deeper meaning. I absolutely love the lyrics "Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses and sleeping with roaches"

GOOD JOB PATD<3
