Customer Reviews
This is the Weezer I missed!
With Weezer being my favorite band of all time, I have to say I'm very satisfied with this song, and I like it more than pretty much anything off of The Red Album and Make Believe. The song itself is very upbeat and insanely catchy, starting with a fast acoustic rhythm in the verse and then going into a big sing-a-long chorus. Sure, it was different to hear Rivers being cocky with his lyrics for once on The Red Album, but what I really missed from Weezer was all the charming, "shy guy" type lyrics. Honestly, what guy has never wanted to say that to a girl... "if you're wondering if I want you to, I want you to"!. Very relate-able song.
Panic at the Weezer
This song makes me heavily anticipate the new album by Fall Out Weezer, or Weezer at the Disco, or My Chemical Weezer, or whatever terrible pop band they are trying to imitate. Save your money and download the blue album or pinkerton if you don't own them yet.
The Weez Has Turned & Left ME Here
I've loved weezer since 94". I was in the original fanclub that Mykel & Carli set up before their tragic death. With River's being my favorite songwriter i've found myself asking what the hell is going on with his songs of late? I miss his old fomat of quiet smooth guitar/catchy riff verses, to loud distortion with feedback in the chorus & bridges- not to mention the great solo's from "Blue" & "Pinkerton". "If You're Wondering" has NONE of the above. At least with "Pork & Beans" the chorus guitars sounded just like the distortion from "In the Garage". Rivers needs to dicth all the guitars he's played since 02" & go back & using his Strat copy's, like his old Dahpne Blue Strat he built from parts ordered from Warmoth. I dare you Rivers! Do it! Crank up the volume, & wear you're heart on your sleeve as you did with "Pinkerton" & to a lesser extent "Blue" and make my spine tingle the way it does when i play "Blue or "Pink" on Vinyl. The louder weezer plays the more River's genius & emotion comes through. I know Pinkerton's initial reception hurt River's, causing him to hole up for 5 years & write the super simple meaningless yet catchy songs that turned into the "Green Album"-where every solo on the album just plays the melody? In River's own lyrics from "Photograph" He sings- "If you blew it- don't reject it- just sit drawing up your plans & re-erect it" So River's don't reject it "Pinkerton" re-erect it! RIVER'S-wear you're heart on your sleeve & write the lyrics & music everyone knows you're capable of, instead of the "Pink Triangle" you've apparently had on for the past 13 years. Do this & you'll concour the world. Respectfully, Bill
