No Windows Media Audio 9 or RealPlayer support
I downloaded this app hoping to listen to radio stations from Iowa (where I lived for 7 years), but was disappointed that it doesn't currently support either Windows Media Audio 9 (nearly all ClearChannel stations) or RealPlayer streaming formats. I hope more streaming formats will be added in the future. In the meantime, I guess I'll browse around until I find something interesting or wait for the next update.
Best radio selection on iPhone at the moment
PRO: huge selection of radio stations including BBC World Service and NPR not available on other internet radio apps for iPhone.
CON: UI less satisfying than others, not free (although $4.99 seems very reasonable to me)
This product can be improved (interface, even better selection) but for now it is the best iPhone radio app.
Different Bit Rates
After playing with this some more I can confirm that the stations have different bit rates. What is nice is that the bit rate is listed right next to the channel while you are browsing so you know what to expect.
Quite a few of the channels on here are also listed on Shoutcast so most of these are pre existing Internet radio streams.
So far this is exactly what I was hoping for.
