Terrific, clean interface to current AP articles
Before the App Store opened I was using the web version of the Mobile News Network, and it was a model iPhone-optimized web site. This new native version of the application is even better, providing a highly navigable interface to lots of articles in a variety of categories, including picking up local news specific to your home town, and providing great photos to go with the articles.
I would like to see a little more customizability in a couple areas. Most notably in the Sports section, scrolling through the various subsections (Baseball, Football, etc.) is tedious. I would really like to be able to rearrange the order of the subsections, because there's a half-dozen clicks between the main Sports and the College Sports subsection, and 3-4 of them are sports I really don't care about. That's kind of painful.
Do Not Update!
AP just added Medialets information tracker to include banner ads and gather information about you in the background as you use this app and did not say anything about it in the update description. I installed "PrivaCy" on my jailbroken phone and as soon as I started this app, the red flags went off. Unfortunately, it will not run without it so I guess it's time to say goodbye to this once great app rather than have my privacy compromised. Zero stars. DELETED.
Great app
The app is speedy and sleek. Faster than nytimes as well. News and local news updates like rabbits popping babies
