Description
FlightPlan is a native iPhone/iPod Touch application for both professional and hobbyist pilots. At its core, FlightPlan functions as an aviation calculator by simplifying many common calculations typically performed with an E6B slide rule computer. FlightPlan makes quick work of your number crunching, and is even used by CFIs to quickly check their student's flight and leg calculations (see Leg Calculator feature).
FlightPlan has evolved beyond the core functionality. It now offers many advanced features, including Weight and Balance calculators for both airplanes and helicopters (for linear analysis), live METARs and TAFs, airport data, flex weight calculator, windstar calculator, etc.
FlightPlan will continue to evolve as I incorporate more user requested features. My goal is to make FlightPlan as "all inclusive" as possible, so please let me know if there are features you are looking for that FlightPlan does not already offer. I also feel strongly committed to making this product the best value possible; all new features are included in FlightPlan through free updates rather than spinning off separate apps.

What's New in Version 1.18.3
Version 1.18.3
- Enhanced limits screen to be able to handle slightly more complicated envelopes.
- Moved Great Circle and Course calculation in the Navigation list so that it would be in alphabetical order.
Version 1.18.2:
- Weight and Balance Simple template will auto-clear the fuel weight when the volume is changed.
- Renamed calculation "Course/Distance from 2 Lat/Lons" to "Great Circle and Course"
Version 1.18.1:
This is a small update to improve the Limits screen for Weight and Balance.
Enhancements:
- I have changed the Limits entry screen for Weight and Balance so that the redundant point values for the envelope do not need to be entered, they will be inferred from the previous entered point.
- The limits screen will now check your points to be sure they create a correct envelope "shape". If not, you will be presented with a warning.
- The simple weight and balance template will automatically update values after you edit a field, you do not have to tap "update values" anymore.
Version 1.18.0:
Additions:
- Distance for Descent - Gives the distance it will take to Descent to the desired altitude.
- Weight and Balance now allows you to define CG limits for the simple and moderate template! If you are inside the envelope, your results will be shown in green. If you are outside the envelope, your results will be in red. The helicopter template will be done soon. I am still hoping to get a graph plot integrated as well in a future update.
Fixes and Changes:
- Fixed issue that caused leg calculator not to update the unit labels when the user changed a unit setting after loading the leg calculator screen.
- Updated W&B moderate template screen to be a bit more intuitive in its layout.
- W&B moderate template table cell text will now scale down if values grow very large.
- Adjusted layout of Heli W&B cell slightly.
- About screen changes.

I know this is meant to be a preflight tool but I find myself using it daily even if I'm just curious to know what base cloud layer is - Thanks for putting together a fantastic app
