Description
Interactive MTA Subway Map, Transit Guide & Cross-Street Calculator for NYC commuters
Lets face it: there are multiple New York "map apps" on the appstore - why choose ours?
A) Ever gotten an address like 555 5th ave and been left wondering what the cross street was? We certainly have. We've got the solution with our built-in CROSS-STREET CALCULATOR.
B) Felt utterly helpless when your subway line suddenly stops unexpectedly on the weekend and you have to switch to a shuttle bus? This won't be such a surprise with our support for MTA SERVICE ADVISORIES - and we even cache them so they are available when you are underground.
C) We have great looking, geographically ACCURATE MAPS of the MTA subway system in all 5 boroughs. Did we mention that our maps LOOK GREAT? :)
D) You can use this app with one hand - all controls are accessible with the thumb alone. Double-tapping zooms you in -- or you can use two fingers to pinch for even closer viewing!
E) We are New Yorkers ourselves, we use this app EVERY DAY.

GREAT!
i am a yellow cab driver in NYC... i would give this application 5 stars if you could write the names of the streets for example spring st, james st, hudson st etc...
One of The Best Apps for New Yorkers
I have been waiting for this app since I updated my itouch. Finally it has arrived and its even better then the jailbroken version. My co-worker has not upgraded his iphone for this reason but now that it is here I am sure he will upgrade and buy it. The $2.99 price won't break his piggy bank.
every inch of the NYC subway system is included
I am amazed by those who have commented that the whole subway system is not included in this fantastic app. Did they actually buy it?
Crosswalk has a choice of two maps: (1) the Entire System (except Staten Island which is a single line), and (2) a smaller map of Manhattan and the nearby subway stops into the surrounding boroughs. I like having both: the Manhattan map has great graphics and when you zoom into a station, it's ultra-clear what trains stop there. I use this app a million times a day.
And thank God they don't just give us a portal to the MTA site -- I would never be able to use the app when I want it the most: underground in the subway! (No more hanging onto the pole and tripping all over the people sitting on the seat while I bend over them trying to see the tiny map on the wall.) Not only do I have great maps instantly with a single click (try that with safari), but any subway line advisories whose status I've checked stay cached, so I can read them underground when the train I'm on isn't doing what I expected. In the next update, I'd love to see the app automatically load all the subway advisories whenever I'm using it above ground.
And of course, I Love the cross-street finder -- so much faster than google, and again, I don't need to be on the internet to use it. Fabulous.
This is already my favorite app, and it's just going to get better.
