Customer Reviews
Crashes often; does not appear to allow marking items as "wrong" or "missed"
I noticed a few crashes while I was trying out this application on my iPhone. This problem suggests to me that a lack of exception handling exists in this app. Secondly, is there any way to mark an item as missed during review? While the desktop version of the app offers that functionality, the iPhone implementation just seems to be a slideshow of the user's notes. Perhaps I've just overlooked how to flag certain items as missed. But at the very least, the application shouldn't crash a few times within 15 minutes of use. Just my opinion, of course. At any rate, this 1.0 release is a reasonable start, hence the 3 stars.
Version 1.0 released too early
At least the developer's support forum admits that there is an issue with power macs. Well, here's news for you, this app also doesn't sync with Intel Macbooks (using Mental Case 1.4 trial version). My ipod touch shows up in the list when you hit the sync button, but that's as far as it goes.
The app itself (using the demo cards) is nicely written, but slide transitions are not really smooth at all. Check 'Study Aid' (another flash card app) to see how it's supposed to be done. If the developer manages to pull off a similar layout as in his desktop version, this app gets 5 stars.
Like it is right now, it's plain useless, since you can't even modify the sample data. Too bad, there goes one of my most wanted apps for this year.
Love it!
Maybe I am still in the Honeymoon phase, but I really love this thing. Just perfect for job interviews. The iPhone app is free, the desktop app is currently $10, and I am giddy. For now I will give it 4 stars, and raise or lower the stars after I have used it for awhile.
