myPhotoDOF is another DOF (Depth-of-Field) calculator... :)
But, the idea behind this one is to VISUALLY display the DOF, just the way the photographer needs it! Quickly, without goings through many menus, and showing a visual scale. Distance values are rounded with correct scale automatically (feets or inches, meters or centimeters). Values are rounded to meaningfull digits.
The display changes dynamically as the photographer changes the lens settings on the wheels, directly on the first page.
Only one step is required the first time: selecting the camera in a list, and selecting "metric" units or not.
Note: for compact cameras with small sensors, the "35mm equivalent focal lenght" shall be entered instead of the real lens focal (as usually shown on the camera itself). For DSLR cameras, the real focal length as read on the lens shall used for the calculation.

Added new cameras (nikon, canon, leica M9, Olympus, etc...), and answer to requests from users (store settings, additional aperture and focal length values...)

Great Little Tool
I got this because the interface looked easy to use. My main use for it is to determine a focal point to pick up the foreground and background in a landscape composition. The wheel interface makes this easy. Just roll the aperture and focus point until you get the DOF you want.
There are still a few rough edges. In one case the scale didn't adjust correctly for a far limit less than infinity. Some common focal lengths are missing: 12mm for the Nikkor 12-24mm, 85mm for the Nikkor 85mm, 105mm for the Nikkor 105, 135mm for the Nikkor 135mm, etc. F stops only go to f/22. The Nikkor 105mm goes beyond that. The options are on the camera selection screen, which isn't intuitive. That screen needs some work. It would also be nice if it saved the last settings on exit and restored them when restarting.
Over all this is a nice little tool with a great interface. The missing features don't pose much of a problem for me.
Could do better
At first I was impressed with idea of this app, though when I began to use it, I was astonished at its imprecision - and poor graphics did nothing to make up for it. We need to be able to 1) decide if we want F stops in thirds or in halves (I prefer thirds), 2) be able to lock any or all of the settings - it keeps resetting itself to 50mm and F 2.8. 3) the focusing distance has to much more precise (need inches not feet, mm's not meters) 4) the list of lenses is incomplete. So, sadly its not worth a cent until it works accurately. But when it does and the graphics are improved, this app could be worth much more that $1.99
Crashes all the time
This is a very poor app. It will not even launch anymore. I have the latest update and f/w and it won't run. A hard reset does nothing. You have to delete and reinstall to get it to launch, but it doesn't last. It also needs to be able to do 1/3 fstops. The fixed distances and focal lengths make it almost usless. If shooting from 12 ft. you have to choose from 10 or 15 ft. Focal lengths should be in increments of 5 or even 1.
