Description
Barcodes allows you to scan barcodes and use the information they contain: URLs can be opened, telephone numbers called, emails sent, business cards added to your contacts. The pictures you scan can be taken with the camera or chosen from your photo roll or picture library. Anything scanned will be saved to an archive that you can revisit at any time. Most of all, the application is simple to use: Start the app, take a picture, and confirm the action to be taken. (Nothing will be done without confirmation first.)
Currently, only QR codes are supported. The application is Open Source under the Apache license, and part of the ZXing project.
Enjoy!

Free tool for creating compatible bar codes
If you are just an ordinary guy, and want to have a business card that this program can receive, you can generate QRCode for free by pasting a URL into a browser. For example:
http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=300x300&choe=UTF-8&chl=Anything%20You%20Want
decodes to "Anything You Want". Just replace spaces by %20 and returns by %0A. Now that you've got a QRCode, you can show it from your photo library by (1) while viewing the image in a browser, hold down the 2 buttons at the same time: the Home button on the front face, bottom & and the Lock button on the top of the iPhone until the face flashes white to tell you it took a screenshot.
or: on your computer, save the image of the QRCode into the folder from which you sync your iPhone photos.

Good port
As someone who worked on the underlying library ported to iPhone, and the counterpart Android client, I can say Christian did a great job of adapting this project to the platform.
Great App
Great App, do well what it suppose to do. Sad that only supports QR Codes. Hopping to see more.
