Description

From the creators of Enigmo, Cro-Mag Rally, Bugdom 2, Billy Frontier, and Otto Matic!

** NOMINATED FOR "BEST APP EVER 2008 AWARDS" **

Nanosaur 2 is the most advanced 3D game yet for the iPhone. It will blow your mind as you blow things up!

Pilot a flying dinosaur from the future who is equipped with massive firepower! Your goal is to find and retrieve the missing dinosaur eggs, and to do that you'll have to blow up a whole lotta stuff! You'll battle other Nanosaurs and their defense systems, and collect powerups which give you a large array of weaponry ranging from heat seeking missiles to cluster bombs. It's a dinosaur flight simulator!

Nanosaur 2 is a high performance 3D game that really shows off the new iPhone 3GS with the iPhone OS 3.0! But it still runs great on the older iPhones too.

Quite Good, Could Be Better

Nanosaur 2 for iPhone is exactly like Nanosaur 2 for Mac, with the exception of the control scheme. Your accelerometer-controlled dinosaur seems a bit sluggish, not turning as quickly as you would expect. All of the keyboard buttons on the original game are now on-screen buttons, a system that works quite well and almost better than the Mac version––I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics and sounds are great, and it's not too difficult.

That being said, the game's save system, like most Pangea ports for iPhone, only allows saving at the end of levels. Each level takes a good amount of time to complete, about 15 minutes. As such, don't expect this to be a go-to game when you have a spare moment, but a game that you sit down and play.

The health system works well enough, with a shield on top of the standard health meter and four lives. Unfortunately, crashing into anything kills you instantly, and combined with the small screen and slow controls, this can be rather frustrating. Previous experience with the Mac version of Nanosaur 2 is very helpful.

Besides the issue with saving and the slow steering, Nanosaur 2 is an impressive port for iPhone that is true to the original.

Yet Another Great Release by Pangea Software!

Another release from Pangea, another awesome game. In basic, your mission in this game is to fly around (using the iPhone's Accelerometer) as a Pterodactyl collecting Eggs while avoiding other dinosaurs and robots from killing you. The controls are spot on and the graphics are one of the best I've seen on the iPhone. If you're looking for a game that gives you a bang for its' buck, look no further than Nanosaur 2. I highly recommend it!

Keep up the awesome work Pangea!

Amazing. Here's some suggestions:

Auto-save when quitting. A must for a gaming platform ideal for playing games in 5-10 minute bursts. Plus it would make the game's crashes more of a slight inconvenience than the headache they are now.

Better settings menu. For a professional developer, the settings menu for all Pangea's iPhone games looks VERY unprofessional and amateur. Keep the settings menu landscape, and give it the theme the main menu has. Do that with all your apps - not just this one.

I KNOW HOW TO STOP THE GAME FROM CRASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

Turn off wifi in settings on your iPod Touch / iPhone before launching the app. The app crashes when the native apps try and update (mail, mobileme push, etc.) Pangea, if you are reading this, all you have to to is set Nanosaur 2 to turn off wifi when it launches, and you will have no more crashes (this will solve it on an iPod Touch - for the iPhone you would have to just turn off mail and mobileme syncing temporarily because it would just use 3G to update if you turned off wifi). I suggest you do that with all your apps.
