Utterly fantastic! My new favorite iPhone game!
I grew up watching The Price Is Right on TV and during school summer vacations, I would watch it almost every day. As an adult, I stopped watching the show. But when I saw this game in the iPhone App Store, I just knew I had to have it, & its low price of $4.99 was well worth it, even during this sagging economy, as it's an absolute joy to play!
I bought this app in the App Store only a couple of days after it became available, when there were like only 4 reviews for the game. Now there are about 30 reviews, but I don't understand why some reviewers are saying that the app crashes frequently or that the app experiences lags. I have an iPhone 3G 16GB & I have yet to experience any of these problems. Of course, after I noticed how long it took for this app to load & install on my iPhone, I decided to reboot my iPhone right afterwards, as there's a general consensus going around (& a true one, IMHO) that large apps require a reboot after installation & before playing the game for the first time.
As for my review of The Price Is Right game for the iPhone, I can sum it up in one word: PHENOMENAL! Everything from the TV show, from the sounds to the pretty models to spinning the wheel, playing the various games on the show, etc. is incredibly accurate, & the graphics are simply awesome.
Now, as good as any iPhone game is, there are some flaws but they aren't terrible. For one, at one point as part of the showcase I needed to guess the price of a 2006 Lincoln Towncar (hey, it's 2008 heading on 2009, & so the cars should at least be year 2008 models). Another flaw I noticed: When playing one of the many pricing games, I had to guess the price of Keebler Chocolate Chip cookies, but I couldn't tell from the pruduct's picture that the item was a single serving size bag (to me, it looked like one of those bigger 12 oz. or so packages, & as a result I overestimated its price by a long shot ($3.99 vs. $.59), & even the finely detailed description of the item that appeared on my screen didn't say anything about the package's size or # of servings).
But these are only minor complaints, & they don't detract from the joy of playing this game. My previous favorite game, Scrabble, will now be on the back burner for a while, as this is my new favorite game to play on the iPhone! :)
Well, that's it. This game easily gets 5 stars from me. If you're like me & you love(d) watching the TV show, you'll love this game, as it's just as if you were on the show yourself. I never actually realized how hard it is to play & win at this game. It's too bad that when you win at this game, you don't take home real money or real prizes. But, hey, that's life in the fantasy game playing world.
I hope that more developers write more game shows for the iPhone, like Wheel Of Fortune. There are a couple of other game show games out there for the iPhone, but none so far have appealed to me as much as The Price Is Right.

what a great game!
The music is incredible, as are all the sound effects. Every sound effect is authentic, just like the show.
The graphics are amazing as well. It really, truly blows my mind how they have EVERY game in here from the show.
The game pretty much runs in the same order as the show,
You start out against 3 other people taking a guess at the value of an item, then you play your game (cliffhanger, plinko, etc). Then you spin the wheel and participate in the showcase.
an unbelievable steal at $4.99, as this is THE best looking ipod touch game...period.
I have purchased over 200 games, so I know what I am comparing here!
