Customer Reviews
GREAT idea, needs work...
This is an awesome idea... 5/5 for sure if it lived up to the reviews and the description. I'm a little skeptical whether these reviewers actually used the program very much for serious digital audio, though. The first thing I did was record myself saying "check 1" on track 1, "check 2" on track 2 and so on for all 4 tracks and it worked smashingly. I downloaded Audacity and did the WIFI sync which worked perfectly as well. So far so good. Once I got home I dug my six-string out of the closet, tuned it (worth the ten bucks just for that!!) and set about multi-tracking. The audio was as good as you could expect for the iphone internal/headphone mic but there were some serious problems. Several times (usually while laying down a second or third track) I got some garbled noise that ruined the current track. Kind of annoying when 2 minutes deep into a Down By the River solo (c'mon, you know you do it too). Furthermore, the program crashed twice (iphone froze for about 30-45 sec, then dropped to springboard). It was just generally buggy and felt like I was really taxing the processor and teetering on the edge of disaster at all times. All in all it was a little frustrating but I was able to get a couple decent tracks. MAYBE worth the ten bucks just for coolness and the fact that (if you're patient) you can end up with a decent multi-track recording (no latency issues, the by way... very nice). If it were more stable it would be well worth the money and more. This could be a great practice tool and a way to quickly hash out some ideas, but don't believe the yahoo telling you it replaces a $500 piece of equipment.
Un Freekin' Believable! This app is excellent!
This is a tremendous breakthrough in personal and portable music production. Yep, It works. 4 tracks. No latency. Multiple songs. Cut in and out on tracks. Volume controls during playback. Pan tracks left and right.
No e.q. no effects. only one track at a time . . . but think about it, 10 dollars for multi-pass, multitrack recording is huge. In 30 years of producing music for broadcast I have not seen a more useful tool for testing and recording musical ideas outside the studio.
Bravo Sonoma! Add a delay, reverb and importing/exporting of individual tracks and we'll have people making good recordings everywhere.
one track wonder
Problematic:
1.Keeps crashing.
2.After the first track is recorded the 2nd/3rd/and 4th distort or don't pick up at all when using an iphone or belkin headset/microphone.
3.You can't delete a track after it is recorded. You can only record over it.
