Meal Diary introduces a new approach for measuring how much you eat. This pragmatic approach allows you to track your "consuming activities" (meals), and your "burning activities" (exercise) with just two taps: one for selecting the type of activity, and the other one for selecting the size (small, medium and large). Your activities are automatically uploaded to MyMealDiary.com where you can access them for free.

You can add up to eight buttons with custom values. To add a new button or to configure an existing one just tap on the Info icon at the top-right corner of the Today screen. The number associated with each button/size combination can denote calories, points or any value that works for your diet as an indicator of the size of the meal or exercise. For example, the "Breakfast" button by default has values 200, 350, and 550 for the sizes (small, medium and large). You can also change this number when you enter a new activity.

By simplifying this process you can log a meal in less than 10 seconds, and by making this process simple and quick it is more likely to be incorporated into your daily routine. Meal Diary is a great complementary tool if you are on a diet, if you want to lose weight, or just for staying under control.

Once you enter an activity, MealDiary adds or subtracts the selected value to the counters on the Today screen, displaying the total balance, consuming balance and burning balance for the current day. It also shows the weekly daily average and the historical daily average. The Charts screen is great for visualizing daily balance, daily number of meals and daily weight over time.

In order to make meal tracking a simple and quick process Meal Diary is not tracking details like meal ingredients, carbs, or proteins. This tradeoff becomes less relevant when you follow a similar eating pattern and all you need is to control how much you eat and the frequency of your activities. Meal Diary also allows setting the date and time for each meal, and even write a note, so you can track a meal right after having it, or enter them at the end of the day. You can also add, edit and delete previously entered activities.

Meal Diary can also track your weight. An easy to use screen allows you to enter the weight and date. All weight entries are listed together and can be edited or deleted.

Nice application
     

I finally found a simple way to measure what I am eating. I gave up counting calories because it was too much trouble and takes too much time. It would be great if I can also track my weight. I recommend this app.

Perfect for someone like me
     

I have been logging my meals like this already on google calendar. The simple 3 level option keeps me from procrasinating. I don't really care about exact calorie counts. I just want to look back and see how I did in general.
