Overall, anyone that is a fan of puzzle games, strategy games, or actions games should definitely give Neonscape a look.

Harks back to the commodore 64 and atari era where games were simple, fun to play and highly addictive.

This is a pretty fun pick up and play game, it has good gameplay, and is pretty simple. The graphics are very polished, and make it that much more enjoyable.

The game is well executed and you can make it more challenging for yourself by adjusting the speed. Since it has recalibration of the tilt sensor and local and global highscores, two popular features are included.

Classic Retro Fun

Neonscape combines a combination of puzzle/arcade/action all rolled into a simple and fun package. The game feels a lot like Mr. Driller (which I'm a big fan of). But instead of drilling, you're rearranging different shaped walls to guide your "orb" down as well as using them to protect you from baddies. The game is simple for the casual player, but definitely leaves plenty of room for the hardcore gamer to plan every little move to get the #1 spot on the leaderboard.

Anyone who enjoys old school gaming or the Papi series, and/or enjoys dominating global leaderboards. The 2 bucks are worth laying down.

Very good retro game

The goal of this game is to let the ball fall down. In order to do that, you'll have to rearrange the tiles. Simply tap two tiles to swap them. The idea is simple, but if you start to play, it's actually quite intriguing. The graphics are simple but they are polished. Lots of graphics are pretty, but they can also impact the responsiveness of the game. In Neonscape, the graphics do their job.

There are several objects in the game, such as flashing blue tiles that need to be touched in order to deactivate them (if you don't, you lose one of your three lives). There are also arrows and if you touch those, the board moves to the left or right (so one column slides off the screen, and another one comes in from the other side). I've also encountered a red tank, but don't know what its purpose is. That's my only point of critisism for this game: the in-game instructions are lacking. The basic gameplay is explained when you start a level, the blue flashing tile is explained while it is already rising to the top (you get a hint popup message), but for the rest it's pretty much "well you'll have to find that out by yourself". It should be fairly easy to add a "Help" section on the starting screen of the game, in addition to the Play, Options, High Scores and Credits.

On the point of High Scores, by the way, there are local and global highscores. I won't use the global High Scores since I don't like to play with my WiFi on, but for iPhone users this may be a welcome addition.

You can recalibrate the tilt sensor, and to improve replayability you can set the starting speed of the game. (This is the speed at which the tiles move upwards, so you have less time to re-arrange the tiles and make the ball fall downwards.)

Finally - at first I had some problems getting the ball to fall up. I would expect that if I rotate the device 180 degrees, the physics would let the ball fall upwards instead of downwards. However, this didn't happen. I found that if you simply tilt the device a bit backwards, the ball will go up. I like this a lot, because it allows you to keep the device in your hand normally while playing. Rotating your device may look a bit silly when you´re playing this game in public transportation, so the solution in Neonscape is a good one.

Conclusion: this game doesn't need A+ graphics to cover up for a weak game. The game is well executed and you can make it more challenging for yourself by adjusting the speed. Since it has recalibration of the tilt sensor and local and global highscores, two popular features are included. It's easy to pick up and play, the only suggestion for the developer is to include better instructions and explanations of the items you will find in the game.
