Great graphics and sound, good gameplay, but slightly dodgey controls
This game looks fantastic on the iphone. Some destructible enviroments and particles could almost fool you that your playing on a bonifide gaming console. The sound and voice acting is also top notch. The controls however, remind you of the limitations that these type of games will face on the iphone. That being said, Gameloft has done a great job in attempting to make the learning curve as painless as possible and gives the players 3 different control types with a degree of customization to help find the most comfy fit for your play style. Personally, I found control type 2, which lets control your movement with one thumb and your aim with the other to be the easiest(much like using to analogue sticks on a playstation controller). Also there's a subtle "auto" aim to help make the controls less of an issue.
While it takes a little getting use to, it's not too difficult to find a control scheme that works decently enough to kill Nazi's with aplumb.
Overall, this game is great.. i'd recommend the purchase

I have to be honest; I am a little confounded by the complexity of the controls, and the fact that I can't see what I'm doing or where I'm going. (There's only so much screen real estate, Gameloft.) I have yet to enable the accelerometer, so hopefully that will help. But aside from this single complaint, I have to say I am beside myself with the quality of this game. The fact that it is so enveloping, so detailed, so complete - and on a phone! You truly have taken this to a new level, Gameloft, and your efforts will be appreciated greatly. By the way, I've heard comments of the relatively high price of this game. If the game continues to play out as well as the first mission, $10 is an absolute STEAL of a deal! Bravo!
Incredible!
I think this game makes it official that the iPhone is a real gaming device, perfectly able to compete with the DS or the PSP with high quality games at a fraction of the cost. I thought the game would have been impossible to control but the developers made it really easy and intuitive to play. A full featured 3D shooter on my iPhone for 10 bucks? Yes! Yes! Yes!
