Amazing Original iPhone Series
This game is a great take on the classic "point and click" adventure premise, and it makes use of all the iPhones unique features as well. The graphics and presentation are all beautiful, with subtle touches of animation that bring the world to life, and the story has lots of humor and a great sense of mystery. Characters are well developed and deep, and the puzzles are logical while still being challenging. I never once experienced an issue with crashing, and there is only one load time at the beginning of play.
The iPhone has a serious lack of quality, polished, original content. Most games are simple and fun, but they don't hold up to deeper offerings found on platforms like the DS and PSP. This is a great title for the iPhone gamers out there that want something a little meatier to sit down with and enjoy. This is a game best played at an easy pace, and enjoyed like a good book. If you try to rush through it as fast as you can you'll just be missing out on all the subtle touches.
The way the iPhones features are used to interact with in game objects really makes the experience, i'm sure anyone playing this will be in for a few surprises when it comes to solving the games puzzles. Although i found myself stuck a few times, when i finally discovered the solutions to the puzzles i felt so accomplished that i wanted to keep right on going to see what would be presented next. There's a lot to be found by paying attention to subtle interactions with characters and the environment, and the story hints at ominous developments to come in future chapters.
I've spent hundreds of dollars on games from the app store, and so few of them get played more then once, or even fondly remembered for that matter. This is a game i'll play again just to pick up on things i may have missed the first time through. I'm really looking forward to the next parts of this series more so then any other iPhone title, and i encourage other iPhone and touch users out there to try the first part of what's sure to be a flagship title for the system.
Buy This Game - Right Now. Do it. Do it.
This may be my top most eagerly awaited game for the iPhone (neck and neck with Rolando, Bioshock & a solid Quake port.) People - this is the beginning of a legacy... The artwork has to be seen to be believed... It's incredible. Gorgeous. The attention to detail rivals any major outfit out there. Support the artistic French developers - and BUY THIS GAME!!!

Excellent First Step, But Lacks A Few Crucial Elements
I'm a fan of the classic puzzle-solving adventure genre, and this game is certainly an amazing stride forward for the iphone/touch in terms of re-igniting the once-dominant form of PC gaming.. Rather than go on at length, I'll bullet what's right and what's wrong here:
Pros:
- Excellent art style
- Smooth Interface, no glitches, good use of multitouch
- Clever puzzles, compelling start to the storyline
- Plenty of Interaction points throughout the game
Cons:
- This 'episode' of game simply isn't long or rich enough in terms of story - it's more of a demo
- Translation is very poor
- Sound design is marginal and doesn't match the quality of the artwork
- Some features of the game are trial-and-error based (for example, you need to tilt the phone to portrait to use the character's cell phone - this is never really explained and it's a crucial bit of the game)
To summarize, if you'd like to fund the development of (hopefully) longer, more richly-detailed episodes of this franchise, and you feel that the genre is worth pursuing on the iphone, I'd encourage you to pick the game up. if you're dabbling or only half-interested, wait until the price comes down to the $4.99 level to take the plunge.
