Note: Your device must be connected to the Internet for the initial one-time creation of a speed dial icon. However, no personal data (contact name, phone number, etc.) is ever transmitted or stored on our servers.
If you're dialing a contact via a speed dial icon no connection is required at all. Everything works offline!
Technical Backgrounder:
We've applied a couple of clever tricks to make Visual Dial's functionality available. When you tap one of your personally styled Home Screen icons Mobile Safari opens an offline copy of a special Visual Dial page (no Internet connection required, no data transmitted!). Mobile Safari then instructs Visual Dial to place the call. This process takes a few seconds. We're not saying that Visual Dial is the FASTEST dialer on earth - but it's definitely the coolest!

I'm underwhelmed
The initial setup for creating buttons was quick and easy. However, once I push the contact button to dial the phone, it takes 12-15 seconds for the phone to start ringing. It's nice to skip clicking multiple times to call a contact, but I still can click through those screens in far less time. I'm hoping an update will improve the time it takes to actually place a call.
Great App! Needs speed update.
This is a fantastic app. I've wanted a home screen speed dial since the iPhone first came out. This app certaintly delivers. My only gripes with it is that, like another reviewer said, it goes into the Visual Dial program to perform a call and it is slower than making a call through the iPhone's address book. Fix these problems and you will certaintly have a five star application.
Needs some updating.
I like this app and it has potential but it needs some updating. I think there are too many steps to creating. The Safari step (Go Visual) could be taken out.
I also don't like how when you press the icon to dial, it first goes through Voice Dial app for 5 sec. before dialing. I could easily hit Phone, Favorites, and touch who I want to call faster.
I'm not recommending or turning people away. Good first release.
