Great Game - One Glitch!
This is a great game. Well thought out and very challenging. Originally, I played it on the PC. My only complaint about the I-Phone version is that the game "timer" never expires and so not only can you not complete the round you are working on, the game never really ends unless you correctly spell all the words in the round. The lack of a functional "timer" to end the round takes away or eliminates the challenge of playing the game. In otherwords, you are left in "limbo" and not able to enjoy or appreciate a full gaming experience. I am giving three stars until this great game is truly both functional and challenging once again.
They finally fixed the issue with the game timer but there is still a BIG PROBLEM as far as I am concerned. One would think that the purpose of a TIMER is to limit the amount of time one has to complete a particular level or solve a problem. However, the timer in this game is useless for this purpose since it does not signal the END of the ROUND and move you forward to the next. Instead of ending, the ROUND simply continues until you have spelled out all of the possible combination of letters. You still get credit for any correctly spelled words after the CLOCK HAS EXPIRED but there is no longer any CHALLENGE for fighting the clock in doing so. To me, this takes away from the fun of the game and prevents you from being challenged with varying levels of competition and building up an accumulated score.
I would have thought another update would have been released by now since this one is really a no-brainer. The original Chickionary game has this feature - You begin by selecting the minimum number of words you thought you could spell within a given time frame and, as long the minimum number of words were correctly (6,8,12 or whatever), before the game timer expired, you could move onto the next round. And, the scores were cumulative.
This is the Chickionary game I used to play and enjoyed so much. Until this feature is restored, the game is nothing more than "Chicken Scratch."

Great iPhone game!
Chicktionary is an excellent example of how great a casual game can be! Simple game play premise, but a deep experience that has high replay ability. I found myself addicted to this game. First I would try and beat the clock and win the ribbons which they allow you to bet on. (Cool option!) After earning a ribbon and the bonus points, I then played to finish the puzzles. Really compelling and entertaining with the Eggchievements and subtle animations. The game has all sorts of layers of detail. I noticed how the game changes when you play it during different times of the day. Great job and a fantastic deal for the price!! This game will keep me busy and entertained for a long time.
Useless since the timer doesn't work
Great game...IF it actually worked liked it's meant to. You can never finish even level one because the timer simply stops at some point before hitting zero. Waste of $1.99. I'd hope for a refund or a quick update to fix.
