Excellent Implementation, Wonderful Resource
As a CFI I would literally carry around the FAR/AIM with me and actually reference it several times a day. CoDeveloper's implementation of the FAR and the AIM have been wonderful and one of 3 apps that I make sure any pilot with an iPhone or an iTouch knows about. It's amazing to have the ability to reference specifics in the AIM at any time, searching for what I need, bookmarking regularly used sections, and most importantly emailing sections to students, instructors, and others. (The other two must-have apps? AeroWeather and PilotWizPro - of course you'll also need PilotFAR and PIlotPCG).
an indispensible application
PilotAIM is a great tool to have on the iPhone. Once installed, it does not require a network connection to be able to read or search the AIM. The search functionality works flawlessly and much better than the typical web search. The bookmarks feature allows you to bookmark sections for easy reference later. The automatic update feature works perfectly. Having the latest AIM with you at all times, without having to lug a big printed book aroundis truly a luxury. And unlike the book, you don't have to buy it every year to remain current. The application works very well with CoDeveloper's other pilot-applications including PilotFAR and PilotPCG. The user interface is clean and consistent. This applicaiton is a must have for all pilots. In fact, after I purchased PilotFAR and PilotAIM and installed them on my new iPhone I began to appreciate just how useful an iPhone can be for pilots.
Great app, a no-brainer
Perfect use of the iPhone to have the AIM (and FAR too) in your hands when you want it. Searchable too! Try that with the hard copy!
