Fast Scans
This thing works really good. I was hesitant to spend 5 dollars at first for this app, but it is well worth it. I can now transfer contacts from my phone to my wifes phone just by scanning the code on my screen. This app has the potential to be big. Keep up the good work!
Five stars for two things
1. I tried to read a QR Code on a coffee mug produced by Zazzle. As you might imagine, with the curvature of the bar code, NOTHING (including Optiscan) could read it. But Optiscan allowed me to send a copy of the picture to Airsource. Here's the kicker: Airsource responded within 30 minutes of me sending the email... and I was in the United States, 2pm Eastern Standard Time and they replied from the UK. Very, very, VERY GREAT SUPPORT.
2. Optiscan is an active reader like RedLaser and locked into a QR Code displayed on my LCD and read it... something the other readers we tried couldn't do.
Way to go Airsource!
very cool app
Feb 10, 09. I don't know how I came across this app as I didn't know these codes existed and I wasn't looking for it. But I'm glad I did. Interface is clean and simple. Works quickly and you don't have to take a picture for it read the code. It seems like if you have to take the pic it won't be able to read it anyway. This is more a problem with iPhone's cheap junk, non-focusing camera than the application. The QR code must be big enough for the camera to be able to resolve it clearly, otherwise it won't work. I put my contact info code on the back of a business card and the iPhone could read it easily. Only 4 stars because you can't easily email a code to someone. You can take a screen shot of the code by holding down the "home" button and pressing the "power" button, then go to the photos app and email it from there. Very lame! For 5 bucks you should get a fully functional app. I don't mind paying for good apps as long as the money is invested in improving the product. They say they are working on it for an update. Let's hope it's soon!
