Customer Reviews
fantastic app & useful!
Ever get stuck trying to ID a font you see in signage, a print ad, or packaging or anywhere else out in the world? This app is for you - basically Shazam for type, it'll ID even a small specimen in just a few short steps, and the database is enormous!
Useful and (mostly) accurate
WTF nailed the first two fonts I tried, but be sure to use a sample on a neutral background--it was much better at identifying individual letters when I did.
To the reviewer who complained about spending $18 for a font, that is actually pretty cheap! MyFonts is my favorite font reseller and the prices are set by the foundry or designer who made the font. WTF is a free service they've offered for years to help us find the fonts we might wish to buy--most fonts are very expensive. Microsoft/Apple pays a lot of money to fontmakers to include so many quality fonts with their OSes.
Fantastic designer aid.
The whatthefont forums have always helped me to identify fonts and this app is exactly what I've always wanted. As a designer I'm always looking to recognize fonts but sometimes I need that extra help. It's a great app for designers but sadly you'll find that most common people will find it ridiculous to pay for a typefaces.
