Description

*************************************
A staff favorite and rated the #1 Healthcare & Fitness app in a new book called 'Incredible iPhone Apps for Dummies'
*************************************

Myth or not - it can’t hurt to stick to conventional wisdom and drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day. 'Eight Glasses a Day' is an application that will help you do just that - just touch a virtual glass of water every time you drink a real one!

If you meet the challenge, you will be rewarded with a reason why drinking water daily is part of a healthy lifestyle. If not, don’t worry, at midnight your glasses will magically refill to challenge you the next day.

You can also see how many glasses you have left to drink on the home screen icon itself - just like your e-mail or phone icon.

What's New in Version 1.3

We added a setting that will allow you to change the number of glasses you want to challenge yourself to drink - either 1 or all the way up to 12! We are also pleased to say that we more than doubled the 'Tip of the Day' that you will find every time you are successful in drinking your glasses. Enjoy!

Too basic...

It actually CAN hurt to drink 8 glasses a day. For instance, a small child who weighs 40 or 50 pounds. If this child were to drink 8 glasses a day he/she may experience what's called, "water intoxication", which has proven to be fatal in some cases.

Anyone who thinks everyone needs to drink the same amount of water every day is, sorry to say, wrong. This app is not only misleading, but it lacks plenty of features that hardly make it worth the price. After using this app I feel it should be free due to it's extremely low user functionality.

A better way to go is to purchase the app called, "Water Your Body", it not only does what Eight Glasses a Day does (but properly), it also allows history tracking, time stamps, graphs, information, and frankly it's just an all around better app.

Good basic 1st draft

Stable and simple but very dry app. I like it but I think some may find it too basic even for a free application.

Others suggest sound effects, a good idea. Other obvious missing features that might even justify a pay version:
1. Quarter or half-filled glasses
2. Customizable number of glasses
3. Calculator for optimal water intake
4. Customizable glassware, background images, etc. Import a photo for ex
5. Count up rather than countdown
6. Customize clock reset time for night owls
7. Weight record so you can see if you are gaining or losing water weight
8. Water consumption history, stats
9. Export to spreadsheet
10. Charts and graphs

Also, too much water can be a bad thing for millions of people with kidney failure, heart failure, or other diuretic-dependent patients. This app can help but would require more features to get there.

More facts please!

I really like this app - it was one of the first apps I put on my IPhone. Very simple to use. I would however like an update with more facts - the ones that show up when you completed all 8 glasses. I also agree with a previous review that a history would be helpful too. More facts and a history log would make this a 5 star!
