Description

Forums presents your favorite forums in a simple and inspired interface that is designed exclusively for the iPhone platform. Forums works with most vBulletin, phpBB3, and IP.Board 2 forums.

➊ Easy to navigate. No pinching, zooming, and hunting down tiny links required.
➋ Composing your post and reply is as easy as composing a message in Mail.
➌ Automatic pagination. When you reach the end of one page, the next page is already there, waiting for your reading pleasure.
➍ No installation necessary. Forums works out of the box with hundreds of forums without the need for the board administrator to make changes to their forum.

Here are just some of the forums that our users enjoy browsing using Forums:

Tons of problems

Can't change pages, doesn't load avatars or timestamps, no in-app ability to log in, read or write pm's, or use any forum features.

Some forums don't work in app, you can't direct it to start in a subforum, some forums show up with blank titles, etc.

If you could read multiple pages, it MIGHT be worth a buck: but you can't, I tried on multiple forums and threads, and even though it has an interface for going to a different page in the thread, it does NOT work. It just reloads the first page.

Better off using Safari for free.

Way too expensive for such an unfinished product.

I bought this app knowing full well that I might be blowing $10 which I now know for certain I've done.

There are no settings to speak of so I'm pretty confident in saying that this app is text only and there's no way to enable images. An addition to that, successfully adding boards is hit and miss. The app was able to pull a favicon from one board I tried adding, which implied that it found the server somewhat, but it couldn't display the actual board. I've tried adding four different boards and only succeeding with one, so far.

The app has also crashed numerous times in only a few hours.

I don't regret buying this only because I won the $10 and I see some potential in the app but I would say that while money means different things to different people there's no way this is worthy of the same pricing as Tiger Woods PGA, for example, especially in it's current (alpha) form.

Needs a lot of work!

I like the idea behind this app very much. I have been waiting for an app which would allow me to check the forums I follow on a regular basis without having to use Safari and I would be willing to pay $10 for such an app. The problem is "Forums" does not deliver on its promises. Out of 3 forums I (easily) added to the app, 1 shows up as "not available", 1 crashes the app everytime, and 1 kind of work (vbulletin) but with too many bugs to make it useful: the most recent threads show as "not available" (though the older threads work fine), the list of recent threads looks messy, and I still can't figure out how to sign on and post on a forum using this app. My advice: stay away from this app until some serious improvements are made.
