Does not Work
Tried this app for the first time today. Was very excited but very dissappointed: GPS took long but that was the least of the problems. Quit during my run. Once 5K completed, saved the data 3 times but could not find the run in the application or the website. Tried to manually input the workout but could not due to complications with the app. Lastly, app kept giving me errors saying could not connect to server, despite several restarts/reboots. Unfortunately, I paid for this app.
Pretty good
This version is pretty solid. I've not had any of the problems I had with the older versions. I don't tweet, so I can't comment on that feature.
GPS sync is quick now. I like the iPod integration and dynamic map. Voice feedback control is more robust.
My only complaint is that the backlight timeout does not actually turn the backlight off - it just blanks the screen. This does nothing for battery life while still preventing you from easily reading your stats.
Tip: Backlight workaround - You can turn the iPhone screen on & off by pressing the button at the top of the phone and MapMyRun still works - iPod and all.
Getting there. 5 bucks ain't bad.
I'm relatively happy with it as long as it runs. It's five dollars. Most iPhone owners spend that on a lattes without blinking. I keep it in a jacket pocket and haven't lost a signal. The only complaint is that the distances go funny. Example: the other night it called out 0.5 miles, 0.0 miles, 1.5 miles, 1.0 miles, 2.5 miles and then stayed correct for the rest of the run. The log was fine afterwards though.
