WATCHMEN: Justice is Coming is an online roleplaying game developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch and inspired by the highly anticipated WATCHMEN film.
Explore the incredible Watchmen universe in the year 1975, where crime is rampant and average citizens take matters into their own hands. Create your own unique character and begin adventuring through the dark and gritty streets of New York City while following an original Watchmen-inspired storyline through a real-time 3D world. it needs work but it's not bad!
I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. I was surprised to see the amazing startup price! Thank you for doing this. While I have been having some connection issues, that's normal for any new MMO, I was startled by the app crashing itself on connection a few times. That finally fixed itself and I was able to actually play the game.
Pros:
- Great price, no additional fees
- Stunning graphics and they run at an impressive rate (kudos!)
- PVP, Chat, add friends, and explore 5 different areas
- Tons of costume pieces to collect
Cons: (devs, please read)
- No character profiles (write down your account names!)
- Only fight one enemy at a time
- No apparent form of coop. Why? (it's an MMO)
- combat system is similar to rock paper scissors with a little more depth. I don't feel like I'm getting more powerful when I play so there is much less incentive to keep playing.
- No sound effects? sound options page is also broken... simply freezes then links back to the game options page
- No in-game music (not a big deal but if you're playing for a long time it would be nice to have)
- After each fight you have to wait 20-30 seconds before it reconnects you to the world.
- Locations don't seem to matter. They're just for visuals apparently.
- No quests or guiding story that I can find.
It's an MMO but just barely. We need to see some coop, quests, and change the combat/leveling system to something more rewarding.
You guys have worked very hard and it shows. I'll continue to support you throughout this project.
True MMORPG
I have to say this game is very refreshing.
You start out by creating a new character with a name, gender, skin color, and personality type(chosen by looking at an ink blot and choosing ''what you see''). You're then thrown into a 3D ''New York'' where the story is set for you.
The load time for this true MMO is great for an iPod/Phone. Like others have said, you touch the screen to where you want to go in the fully 3D environment. You collect costume parts, follow a story, fight RL players and in game bots. All of this gains you EXP so you can level up. When you level, you gain ability points when you level that can go into health, attack, defense, and movement.
It has a decent framerate with a few minor glitches.
$.99 for a TRUE MMO on the iPod is an absolute steal, no matter how you look at it.
So far I really like it.
Edit: The costumes are fun to experiment with.
You can wear different Shirts, pants, shoes, gloves, eye/face accessories, hats, shoulder pads, and ?capes?(something on your back, don't have anything yet).
As was said by some others, I did crash twice, but after a reset, it seems to be a little more stable.
The Chat feature needs to be worked on though. When you touch a player to chat with, it brings up the player menu with, ''player profile'', chat, add to friends, fight, and exit.
When you choose chat it brings up the keyboard which is kind of laggy(as expected for a pre-final build). You then have to exit the player menu to see if they respond, then RE-open the player menu and choose chat again to reply back. So if you walk away from the person, you can not continue conversing. You have to stand still/in the same area to chat.
Also if your message is too long for the screen, it goes off screen and you can't read it. If you accidentally press done before you type anything it puts up a blank message.
The Friends feature doesn't seem to be implemented yet, but I think that is just because it isn't final yet.
Other than this, It is a pretty awesome idea and game.

Doesn't connect to servers, drops connection, no way to turn down music. Fix it and maybe it will be good. Graphics are good but without gameplay it's useless.
