Description
QuickMark is a mobile barcode reader application that allows you to automatically scan and generate multiple barcode formats from your iPhone.
★ QuickMark is Google's recommended barcode reader and selected partner for Google's Favorite Places campaign! http://qmc.tw/lsLF
★ CNet Review: "QuickMark takes the top prize. It's full-featured, easy to use... QuickMark is recommend by Google for good reason..." http://qmc.tw/F0tl
◇ Camera zoom feature now available!
◇ iPhone OS 3.1 required
Simply launch QuickMark, locate the barcode within the camera viewfinder to read its contents.
The supported barcode formats are:
◇ 2D barcodes: Quick Code (QuickMark), QR Code, Data Matrix.
◇ 1D barcodes: EAN 8/13 (Goods, Books), Code 39 (Bills), Code 128 (Packages).
Things you can do by reading a 2D barcode:
1. Access a web link
2. Make a phone call
3. Send an email
4. Add a phone contact
5. Navigate Google Maps to a specific POI
6. Conduct a web search
For 1D barcodes, you are able to designate an URL for information look up. For instance, you can configure a redirect URL as "http://www.google.com/search?q=" in Redirect Settings and QuickMark will append the decoded 1D barcode data to the end of the URL and let you access it via the browser.
Additional features:
1. Share data with barcodes
QuickMark provides the functionality for you to generate 2D barcodes from your iPhone contacts or via user input. This allows you to quickly share information with a friend who also has a mobile barcode reader enabled device.
2. Multi-language support
QuickMark's user interface is available in 4 languages (English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese) depending on the iPhone device settings. QuickMark application is also able to automatically recognize and accurately display barcode contents of different character sets (UTF-8, Shift-JIS, GB2312, Big-5) and languages (Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, etc.).

◇ Not necessary to press camera capture button. Center barcode in viewfinder to auto-decode.
◇ For 1D barcodes, external macro lens such as Q+ (http://qmc.tw/mJYh) is required (user experience depends on barcode size and lens capability)

Customer Reviews
Bad
After endorsing a product this bad I demand that google make their own barcode reader
I expected more from Google's recommended app
My business was just listed as a Favorite Place. So I needed a QR Reader. This being listed as Google's recommended app, I opted to spend .99 over free. Bad mistake. I scanned my decal code and it said my business was the Home of President Andrew Jackson -- which is about 20 miles away. Not even close. Tried three more times, each failed. I downloaded QR App (which is free) and it got my location correctly on the first try.
Doesn't work well with 3g camera
The camera on the 3g is too poor to use with an app like this. The smaller codes are impossible to read. The closer you get with the camera lens the blurrier the pic gets.
