Description

Read It Later lets you save websites to read later, even without an internet connection.

When you come across an article or a website you'd like to read but can't at that time, save it to your Read it Later list. You can then read it whenever you have a moment, on the couch, in your commute, on the plane, train, or practically anywhere. This allows you to eliminate the cluttering of bookmarks and inboxes with links that are merely of a one-time interest. It's like a staging area for bookmarks.

The app is a part of the Read It Later service, used by over a million users. Read It Later can integrate with every major web browser and even has a robust Firefox extension. All of your browsers and devices are tied to a single sync account which means you can save an article from work or home and read it on your phone.

Key Features:
- Offline Reading: View complete websites even without an internet connection.
- Sync: Use the same list between all of your computers and devices
- Text-only View: Easy to read mode strips formatting and images
- Quick Scrollbar: Quickly move up and down long articles.
- Sorting: Sort your list by date, title, and site
- Tagging: Organize your list into groups
- Searching: Filter your list by title, site, and tags
- Saved Positions: Remembers where you left off on every article, provides 'Currently Reading' section for a quick overview of open articles. Syncs your scroll position to your computer.

Pro Features:
- Tap to Save Bookmarklet: Lightning fast batching of links directly from mobile safari. Works great on sites like Google Reader, Digg, CNN, or any news portal.
- Fullscreen Reader: Expands the reader to the full edges of the screen
- Share: Share pages from your list on major bookmarking services/social networks. Works with Twitter, Digg, Facebook, StumbleUpon and a lot more
- Send to App: Send links directly to popular apps like Twittelator, Tweetie, TwitterFon and more
- One Touch Rotation Lock: After rotating the phone, you can lock the orientation, perfect for reading while laying down
- Automark as Read: Allow marking pages as read as you read them
- Unread Count: Shows the number of items in your list from your home screen.

BEST NEWS APP EVER!!!

This is an exelent app for keeping track of all of your news articles that you can't read at the moment. I have been using this scence version 1.0 and I have loved it the whole time.

The app gives you two ways to bookmark items on the web on your iPhone. You can save the page that you are currently viewing. You can also use the increaibally useful "tap to save" feature that allows you to just tap on a link to save it. This is useful if you use services like Google Reader. Once you have an article saved, you Download it to view it offline later in one of two ways, you can save the whole web page or you can use the text only feature. This let's you view the article with just the text.

Read it Later also has syncing with the web so you can view your reading lost in your browser or in the Firefox extention.

Changed my (web site reading) life

I track a lot keywords in my email, but never seem to have time to read the ones I want; same with links from Twitter. Using Read it Later Pro on my iPod touch (and then adding a bookmarklet to Internet Explorer and an extension to Firefox) has helped me catch up on everything I want to read.

Choosing the "download with sync" option means I can check out stuff offline while in waiting rooms, or riding in a car, or anywhere that I don't normally get the Internet. Even if I'm online, I like the option of reading it all in a text only format- makes it simpler!

The great ways to share the stories through the app is much better than trying to figure out the share/email options on each individual web page too.

I highly recommend it, when you integrate it with all your web use.

Buy Instapaper Instead

I've been using Instapaper for some time now, but decided to try this out for something different. My biggest issue is that it takes so long to download articles onto its site. Overall, it's a decent app, but if I had to chose one I would go with Instapaper instead.
