Terrible first impression
Maps, when the display at all, are very slow to draw. But most of the time the screen is just filled with big sections of black, or a greyed checkerboard showing no image, When you CAN see and select maps, even small areas selected for offline use are very, very big amounts of data that take long time to download and also a long time to backup/sync on your computer.
I would have really liked this app to work -- and may revisit this review if the developer can fix things.

It doesn't work offline. you can only zoom in and view the street names when you are online .. if I needed an online map, I would have used the google built-in map application (for free). This app is useless.

This was a good app. I really enjoyed it when I first got it. I used to download maps of where we were going in Europe. Unfortunately much to my surprise they snuck in some "new functionality" in the last patch. Previously I selected Paris and the area I wanted to download. The total size was about 234mb, perfectly fine by me. After this update I made the mistake of clearing that cached map and decided to try to re-download that area. Much to my surprise the functionality has been changed. Now in order to download a full map of the area of Paris that I want I have to select the entire area but only a few zoom levels because now apparently there is a 50mb limit to the site of the map. However as a consolation they let you know that if you want you zoom further in smaller areas and save more zoom levels. The overall effect? I had to save 5 areas to get what I hope is a full map of what I had just days before in a single download. Furthermore I have to try and make sure I overlap my closer zoom areas that I wish to save to make sure I don't end up with a gap between areas and there is nothing to show you which areas or how much of the area you have saved. Its basically 2 to 3 times harder to accomplish the same result.
I'm not sure why you changed it, it was working just fine. Put it back or allow and option for me to download an entire area I want I guarentee I will rate this app 5 stars.
