WHAT THE WORLD'S SAYING:

"The tap-to-shoot mechanic is excellent…This is good-looking, cheap, alien-killing fun." – IGN.com

"I enjoyed it immensely... I’d be hard pressed to say there’s anything comparable to it in the App store right now." – TouchMyApps.com GRAB IT Award

Prey Invasion is NOT a port. It's an *ALL-NEW* adventure starring Tommy Hawk, a modern-day Cherokee warrior who can tap into his unique native powers, such as spirit walking and shooting his powerful spirit bow.

A MASTERPIECE REBORN!

Prey Invasion is a unique follow-up to the 2006 console hit called a ""masterpiece"" by Game Informer (rated 9.5/10), and ranked by TIME magazine as one the Top 10 Games of 2006.

A STORY TO DIE FOR

The world is under attack from an alien menace, but they've picked on
the wrong man and his girlfriend. Tommy Hawk takes no prisoners as he
plows through level after level of mutated aliens in search of his
loved one. But can he rescue her before she is hideously transformed
into one of them?

UNIQUE GAMEPLAY GALORE!

The original Prey introduced several amazing gameplay modes, and Prey Invasion
has them too:

- Spirit Walk -- Become a ghostly hunter with a powerful spirit bow
- Wall Walk -- Walls become floors as you figure out new attack strategies
- Death Walk -- When you die, it's not a frustrating set-back, return almost immediately to the action

CUSTOMIZED CONTROLS

Two control schemes are offered: digital and analog. Selecting analog places a pair of discs on the screen used to control Tommy's direction of movement and sight. Choosing the digital scheme, on the other hand, arranges a series of directional buttons that can be placed wherever you wish. A high-powered, super smooth 3D engine introduces TapShot™ which takes full advantage of the touch screen interface to easily and quickly aim and shoot enemies, without the frustration of trying to line up your weapon perfectly.

The sign of things to come

Prey Invasion isn't a bad game, neither is it good. The common criticism with most; if not all iPhone games are control or originality, prey is obviously a marker for first person shooters for the iPhone and iPod touch. For a portable, the graphics are impressive; it's good to see the Carmack Reverse still being used. My main concern is the controls, the two controller options both feel like molasses and at times I feel cheated with the tap to shoot option. Not in a way that it's a bad thing, it just feels unfair.

Middle of the road

Awesome gameplay my only issue with the game is that the controls are not accurate and really tough to use otherwise an awesome game has been made.

Understand you're basically buying a tech demo

+Adjustable controls (modify sensitivity, button layout, the transparency on the buttons, etc.)
+They attempt to fix sloppy controls with hit boxes that are considerably bigger than the actual enemy is=easy targets.
+Some sounds are satisfying enough.
=(neither good or bad) Dialog is hysterically awful.
-No matter how much you adjust the controls they still feel imprecise. Even when you're shooting enemies more accurately.
-Graphics aren't great. Cel shading should've been used, or some other style because the "realistic" graphics add to the sloppy feel of the game.
-The movement buttons should be bigger (allowing them to be more sensitive)
-Awkward loading portions (could be much smoother (though the game does load very fast)

If you want a tech demo FPS than you've found a home run with this game. It lacks the fun an FPS should have maybe because of flat geometry or linear, shoot everything, gameplay but the biggest and most definite reason is the lac of subtlety to controls and lack of multiplayer.
It's coming and they'll come in a stampede eventually I'm sure. But this is like the animal a mile in front of the stampede who has no reason to run, there's no competition.
