Great rhythm platforming game, easy to play, difficult to get perfect combos, buy it!
This is a great rhythm game, when Mevo runs passed an arrow you hit the corresponding arrow. He runs automatically. The first level is easy but then the combinations to hit get more complicated. It really isn't a platformer in that you don't control the running, only the rhythm buttons, but the platforming action is nice eye candy. The game has nice graphics, a great soundtrack, and fun gameplay for a steal of a price. I would pay more than 99 cents for this game, gladly, so pick it up if you like rhythm games or want to try something new!
Awesome Music Platformer! Wife enjoyed it a lot! But the game is too short!
The game is about a band that has most of its members captured by a character who doesn't like their music. You play Mevo - a single eyed dancing character who will travel through stages in order to free his friends. The goal is to press either the left or right on-screen arrows as your Mevo avatar passes by the notes. It's very similar in concept to Tap Tap Revenge/Guitar Hero/Dance Dance Revolution/Rock Band, with the difference that each song is played on a 2D side-scrolling level.
Pros:
- Successfully integrated 2D horizontal platforming and the music tapping genre
- Highly infectious electonic, upbeat and funky tunes
- Addictive, challenging gameplay
- power-ups keeps your groove going
- 3 difficulty levels helps extend replayability
- customizable avatars
- right price for the current amount of content
Cons:
- 5 stages only, game could be over in 2hours
- music isn't as polished as with other games in the music genre
- minimal delay when you hit a note and when it registers the tune, you have to clear your iphone's memory to avoid slowdowns
- Level design could be better
Beautiful music game
Love music games and when i saw this thought I'd take a chance. Glad I did - the music is really different and funky like they say. Pretty good coming from a game company. The basic mechanics of tapping is the same as other music games but the genius twist is that it's got a mario platformer feel to it. You can easily get thru the game in easy mode but challenging in the med and hard mode - which by the way is how you get some hidden avatars and power ups. The art is fantastic. For only 99 cents, which i think is a steal - its a great game. Excited to see more of this beautiful game.
