Roadee is an openstreetmap based navigation system.
With Roadee you can navigate to each address, point of interest, contact of your addressbook or your home.
It also displays speed and driving directions. Furthermore you can search for any point of interest and start navigating right away.
Roadee makes use of the daily growing mapdata of www.openstreetmap.org. Openstreetmap is like wikipedia for maps. You can create an account on OpenStreetMap and participate in the community. This is not required for the use of Roadee.
The routinginformation are calculated and provided by www.cloudmade.com.
If you encounter any problems please use the integrated feedback form. We are happy to get your positive and negative feedback.
Please keep in mind, this is not T**T** but it will do a great job for you for less money.

Twit.tv reviews and recommendations
Please recognize what I have understood about this application. First, it's just $2, not $30, or $50, or $100 like its competitors. Second, it's using OpenStreetMap.org, which varies in quality. For some parts of the world, OSM will be far better than anyone else. For most of the world, it will be on par. And for some places, OSM is lagging. But here's the thing: OSM is about YOU. If you find that Roadee points you wrongly in your neighborhood, YOU CAN FIX IT. Join the website, upload the corrected maps, and within a few days, Roadee will know. This is NOT the case with anyone depending on the duopoly of major providers. Make OSM better, and Roadee will get better. It's up to you.
Most negative reviews of Roadee are actually negative reviews about OSM. But it's up to you to fix OSM.
I do agree, Roadee has some user interface issues to fix, and I know that my $2 will be helping pay them to fix that. Get Roadee now, even if you still use something else. It will get much better later, and I hope it costs $20 then, not $2.
Worth $1.99
For $1.99, it's worth having. Yes, it's a little slow, interface can be improved, but it does turn-by-turn -- for $1.99!
It would get 2 or 3 stars from me if it cost more.
What I would like to see:
- let iPod play and just silence during direction.
- better map and poi pre-caching of local area and the whole route - so cell signal can be lost
- lat long data input and display
- continued interface improvement
- a region map/poi/routes download option (make it rodee pro for $9.99)
Good start!
1.2 will get 5 stars.
Fantastic app. It's missing a few things (like the iPod turns off when the voice is on), but I know the developer is on top of things. I got a response from the developer to some of my suggestions in about an hour.
I usually don't buy many apps, but I wanted to support the use of Open Street Map. This has great potential.
