Twitscoop in your pocket
twitscoop.com is a terrific website for understanding what's going on in the twitterverse and this app is like having the website in your pocket. You can see the real-time tag cloud and click on a tag to see some of the tweets or you can investigate the hot trends. When you select a trend you can swipe and see the different views that are on the web site. The app is well thought out, has a nice clean interface, and is quite snappy. The only problem I found is that the hot trends didn't appear to refresh until I closed the app and reopened it. It might be nice to have some controls or preferences to refresh, take a cloud snapshot, etc.

The app is nice. It works just like the website, but there is one thing wrong. Sometimes when I select the trend, the app will crash. It's really hit or miss. Fix the crashes and this would be a 5 star app.
Great, needs work
Twitscoop is a very interesting way to see trending topics on Twitter. While most apps and sites just list them, twitscoop gives you the tag cloud of growing and shrinking words as they are tweeted more/less.
This would be a great app to just leave open and watch as topics trend and fall away. However, you have to scroll down the page to see other trending topics. If the developer could get these all onto one page (as the website does on iPhone with a double tap zoom), this app could more easily be a 'sit back and watch' app.
In addition, twitscoop proposes to be an app/service that keeps you more involved in what's happening. However, you currently cannot tweet from within the app, making this a bit of a weak experience: you can watch and see whats going on, but you can't immediately participate in discussion.
While twitscoop as a service is incredible, I can't recommend the app just yet. The app provides less functionality than the site and costs money, while the site is free. The app does load more quickly than the site, especially loading the tag cloud, but whether that's worth a dollar is debatable.
Hopefully the updates add the same functionality of the website, combining with the speed of the app.
