Great for football on a cell phone(read this honest review)
I usually don't write reviews but I figured that this game was in need of an unbiased fair review. Everyone either seems to bash gameloft or claim madden on iPhone is a console experience. Here's the real story.
Madden for iPhone is a great start to being able to play football on your cell phone. The graphics in the current version are good for a cell phone but I think are subpar to some of the other games that are being put out. This is an area that cab use some improvement. I used to play madden on my psp, which I sold because my iPhone was the all in one device for me, but in all seriousness the psp version was much better.. The graphics, gameplay, controls obviously, and etc were better. Don't get me wrong I was actually really surprised at how well the touch controls worked. But there are just some littles features missing that take away from a true psp or even console experience. There isn't even a play clock... Why it's left out I don't know, but doesn't something this simple really take away from the gameplay.. U have all the time you need and a major strategy point is left out.. Hopefully it's implemented by the time multiplayer comes out.. Also the game is a little choppy but not bad at all and for the most part it's smooth. There are no replays, penalties, challenges, referees, all of which are in psp and console versions. These take away from the immersive experience found elsewhere. With all that said the game still plays really well and succeeds at what it was intended to do, and that's have a close NFL experience on a mobile phone. The controls work well and features like drawing your own play, tilt for camera viewing, and shaking device for hurry offense are nice iPhone touches. It's a great game and probably the best football so far on the iPhone, and if you don't go in expecting a console version you should be happy. This review was to clear up some misconceptions and also to be fair and talk about both positives and negatives. I gave it 4 stars because it does do what it was designed to do and it is one of if not best football games on the iPhone and is in a sense a game changer for this genre on iPhone. However it's not perfect and there could be some improvements in future updates that kept me from a perfect 5 stars. Hope this helps
Madden on iPhone is incredible
Madden is just amazing.
It is not as hardcore as the console games and that is a plus for me. I have been unable to play madden on xbox and ps3 for years because it is just too complex. This game is easy to pick up and it is also easy to put down. It remembers exactly where you left off without missing play.
It has a deep playbook but my favorite part is using the touch screen to draw hot routes on plays. It reminds me of drawing plays in the sand as a kid in the school yard. There are no negatives for this games. Buy it immediately.
Addicting
Good i just have one question. EA, when you make madden 11, can there be a choice to upgrade to madden 11 for free instead of paying another 10 dollars for it? I hate how games can be outdated instantly. I hope you read customer reviews.
