Electric football video gaming at its Finest
If you are a fan of the old electric football, you will already feel comfortable with the game's setup. If you are not or have never played electric football, this is a very fun take on it and you will learn what its all about quickly. The gameplay becomes addicting once you get a feel for the way its designed. The design is a little quirky just like the old electric football games. At first even I was a little thrown off by it, but then I started to appreciate the game's style in almost a fun and comical way. For example, in Super Shock Football when your receiver or even the computer receiver catches the ball they will run toward the goal and then for no logical reason turn in a circle or start running backwards or out of bounds, with no opponent even near them. lol I'm sorry but this part of the design doesn't seem right and it should be modified, even if that's how the old electric machines worked it ain't gonna fly now. Thankfully its all balanced out though between you and your opponents, so you aren't the only one running in circles occasionally. Runners can lateral the football when you feel your player is straying in the wrong direction but as for control of your runner that's about it. You do get used to it after a while, but with the running being so unpredictable and having little to no control over it, this will turn off some of the more serious football video gamers. With that being said and out of the way, there are many things that are very likeable about this game. After playing a couple games I kept going back for more, the gameplay was addicting. Passing works great(just drag from your quarterback to the receiver and let go). Kicking design is almsot perfect. There are plenty of plays, formations to use and choose from and because of the lack of control of the running in the game, a large part of your success will come from choosing the right plays. Graphics and colors of the game are good. I like the atmosphere and sounds. The presentation of the game is excellent with nice quick menu designs. Options include letting you choose the amount of players you want on each team and minutes per game, as well as sound, camera adjustments. There is a STATS section that shows all the team achievements available at the title screen(touchdowns, yards, wins, losses...).
Overall this game is a lot of fun , and the developer(Steamroller Studios, Chillingo) is actively working to improve and make the game even funner which is a great sign. I'll look forward to more updates, but so far this game is already a classic. I'm having more fun playing this game than NFL 2010. Overall score 9/10 - My only suggestion for an update would be to allow more control over the direction the player runs with the ball.
Wonderful silliness
If you are under 40 years old you likely have no idea what this game is trying to recreate. Look it up before you buy it and post a negative review.
That said, this is a fine simulation of electric football of yore, except with more control than you ever had before...kinda. Passing and kicking work well. It feels lacking in the defense dept since all you do is set your formation and hope for the best, but then again, adding any interaction there might ruin it.
My biggest wish would be for better visual distinction between teams. Brown and gray? Really? When you are zoomed out it can be really difficult to tell who's who and you can often end up tossing the ball to your opponent.
Overall, well done silliness if you are willing to accept the random nature if it. Even so, the developers have done a good job striking a balance between annoying randomness and entertainment. I am entertained by this.

..a classy and classical rendition of electric table football. This is a very innovative and fun game.
It's ignorance on the part of the spoiled kids who rate this one star and make comments like "I can't control my dudes" I'm sure they simply read the name and looked at the pictures.
This has grade A graphics and UI and plenty of options to set up the game and plays the way you want. Open Feint is a big bonus with a ton of achievements and leaderboards. I'd call this game a "Touchdown" victory.
