Customer Reviews
Wikitude.me is AMAZING!
The ability to create my own AR points of interest (POIs) is one feature that separates Wikitude from all other AR applications. This is one of the most user-centered AR applications available and I really appreciate the clean, simple interface.
Works Pretty Well
The interface is just a little bit clunky, but it is much more than i would ask of a free app. great job! If it could also search all of Wikipedia, that would be even more amazing.
Nice tech - is content sponsored?
All I get for content is the towns & neighborhoods around me & hotels. They're supposedly Wikipedia pages - but I know for a fact that here in historical Northern Virginia there are a lot more wikipedia articles near me than this shows (and are there really Wikipedia articles on every hotel??).
The most glaring example of this is the Manassas Battlefield - home of some of the bloodiest & most relevant battles of the American Civil War. There is a lot of Wikipedia content on that battlefield, but the only nearby "POI" this shows is the Fairfield Inn! In comparison, Google Earth for iPhone has several Wikipedia links directly on the battlefield.
I can't help but suspect the reason this is free is because corporations - most suspicously hotel companies - are making sure their "POI" is there at the expense of others.
