Unbelievable!!!! 10/10++++
I am addicted to apps for my iPhone like many others. I enjoy just about every kind of game out there. I have purchased 400+ games from the app store and I have many RPG's. They are not my favorite even though many are quite good simply because usually I don't have enough time to sit on my phone long enough to get into them!! Then I saw all the reviews for this one and was hesitant. Probably cuz of the initial price. BUT like usual, I decided to buy it.... I AM HONESTLY BLOWN AWAY ON EVERY ASPECT OF THIS GAME!! From the presentation, controls, graphics, story, sound and gameplay!! The controls are fluid, which can definitely be an issue with many app games, but especially RPG's. This one is more of an action RPG and completely draws you in from minute one!! I kid you not!! You can tell time was spent to truely make this game worthy of the price, but quite frankly it's worthy of praise regardless of what you play it on!! There are many games I have purchased that are wonderful and as many of you know, there are many that demand a refund!!! Lol. All I can say is this is a grade A game, period!! If you are taken back by the genre or even the price just do yourself a favor and buy this immediately!! You will be overwhelmed by how much you will truely enjoy this adventure. For the love of God, please change the save mechanism
This is a fun game. The controls are okay, although not as responsive as some action RPG's. The story is pretty standard. Graphics are fun, and the inventory / skills management system is strong.
But for such a sophisticated company like Gameloft, I just don't understand why they can't get the saving right. I'm playing this on a mobile phone for gosh sakes. You can only save when you reach certain milestones, yet because I'm playing it on a phone, I'm constantly getting interrupted. Why not just have it save exactly where you are. And when you restart it after taking a phone call, the game just picks up in the middle of the fight you were in. Skip the titles. Skip the menu. Just get me right back into the action. For a good example of how this can be done, see Meteor Blitz.
Disappointed
Having read the reviews and played many RPGs thought that this lacked some MAJOR points:
1. No mapping
2. No saving
3. If you play fir sometime then you have to leave the game for some reason you are put back at the beginning of the segment. That is dumb
4. movement is problematic in that you do get stuck and have to move to another point to get going again. If you walk down along side a wall you can't see your avatar.
I do like the graphics.
At this price the above should have been thought of and included.
