Description
Citizens Connect is a cutting-edge, full-featured tool for enabling Boston's residents to capture information about the state of the City and to share that info with City Government.
The captured "work-orders" are automatically inserted into the City's Citizen Relationship Management system (which is an extension of Mayor Menino's 24-hour Hotline) so that they can be tracked and assigned to service teams. Once the work-order is sent to the server, the user is automatically sent a ticket-tracking number.
Once the service teams have closed the work-order, a push notification is sent to the user along with the ticket number.

nice idea, no action
My students (grade 3) and I were very happy to be able to use this to report all the obscene graffiti on our play yard. Too bad no one has responded/ taken care of it. Very disappointing for the students too as we have sent emails and letters regarding other serious issues to the mayor over the year and have received no response.
Guess the kids have to learn a lesson about politics and 'the little people' sometime, just stinks it has to be at age 8.
Very useful app
I've submitted several service requests and they were handled very quickly. I didn't know who was responsible for each and every request (Parks, Public Works, etc.) bit the app takes care of this. Great experience all the way around!
It actually works! And fast!
I reported a really bad pot hole while walking to work in the financial district. The next morning the jackhammers where there fixing it. Very fast. Dunno if it was because of location or safety reasons (it was scary deep) but, you can't get a better response than that.
