BEST GAME EVER
I have a full 11 pages of apps and games, and this one is definitely in my top 3! Fun and addicting, with lots of content, and they keep adding more! WORTH 10$, you will not regret buying this game!
One could ask no more of a swinging platformer on this platform.
From the excellent 2D sprites oozing with character, to the excellent feeling controls, Hook Champ delivers. A game I'm sure is a blast to simply play through, but truly rewards those who give back. Replaying for offline and online best scores is thoroughly rewarding, as is all the badass upgrading and loot buying. The gameplay simply feels right, not something super common on the iDevice platform. For me it's usually close, but not quite. That is not the case with Hook Champ.
I hate devolving to a list, but this is absolutely recommended if you:
-Were born before 1990.
-Enjoy side scrollers
-Enjoy platformers
-Enjoy games with swinging mechanics
-Enjoy speed runs
-Have an iPhone
-Like the color blue
-Have a pulse
Seriously. If it doesn't deliver, write me a mean note personally.
The only flaws thus far are the lack of music (which I both like and dislike; helps focus, but oftentimes feels like something's missing), and as a guy who's replaying levels many a time, loot/cash comes a bit too easy. Also worth nothing, the title (on my 3GS) boots fast, and remembers where you were precisely if you leave the game. A small detail, but much appreciated.
If this doesn't wind up on the best sellers list I will lose immense faith in the App Store community. This is excellence, period. I can only personally thank the Rocketcat crew for what I can only describe as a game which comes off as a loved creation with nearly every imaginable detail polished to a shiny, 8 bit shine. Kudos. My Plutocratic hat off to you.

This game is fun, well updated, and expanding. Since I bought it, there have been a number of levels added and it is a fun system to play through.
