Excellent shooter
I've been waiting for this one and Namco delivered! If you enjoy third-person shooters with a Vampire/Monster-type theme, this is the game for you! Story line is integrated well into gameplay, graphics are nice, and controls are decent. Aiming weapons is a bit inprecise and could be improved. Let's hope Namco updates this game more frequently than they do their other offerings!
Good game
Really good game. There are several shooters in the same style (Minigore, iDracula...) but this is the only one that has some substance and story attached to it. Both graphic and sound are top notch and it seems there is lot of content here. Highly recommended.
The original version put me to sleep. The updated one is keeping me up past my bedtime
The difference between the new version and the previous one is pretty astounding. The game is running multiple times faster now, with much smoother main character animation. Enemies still could use more detailed movement, but they're no longer step-stepping towards you. In terms intensity, G&G is now much closer to iDracula (with the added bonus that your character's hips actually rotate when you turn). Let's put it this way: the original version literally put me to sleep; I've now been playing the update for over an hour past my bed-time, and I'm having a tough time putting it down.
Now that the gameplay has been so improved, it's much easier to appreciate the story, variety of levels and environments, and the overall steampunk-meets-Transylvania style of the game. With the addition of a survival mode (in which you can use one of three maps from the story mode), I can see playing G & G for a long time.
