Great implementation, shameless AI

The production qualities of this implementation are top-notch, but it's ruined by an AI that simply rigs the dice to suit its needs. Watch as it skates past your properties while you get hosed over and over again until you go bankrupt or give up in frustration. I once owned every property except Boardwalk and Park Place, yet the last AI managed to stay solvent while I landed on a fully built-up Boardwalk SEVEN times in a row. It's just not fun once you realize the dice rolls are what the game wants them to be. Too bad EA didn't put more effort into a decent AI.

Great classic gameplay but AI manipulates

Pros: excellent gameplay, fun graphics, and the traditional areas on the board. This game will kill time and affect you productivity (In a pleasant way)!

Cons: the AI does cheat in the medium and harder levels. As someone who has advance training in research methods (i.e., STATISTICS), I can say the "luck" of the AI and "bad luck" of the user (e.g., dice roll, progression through the board, etc.) is pushing statistical probability (no, I am not a disgruntled customer; I am attempting to provide an observation).

Overall the game is fun but the AI manipulates the gameplay in medium difficulty for numerous rounds which is frustrating. For the price, there should be more game parity. Hopefully EA will address this.

EA: As a consumer, I am disappointed that you push a marketing ploy at the end of EVERY game. Consumers purchased the game, please take off the "buy more" button!

AI is TERRIBLE

I've waited a LONG time for this app—refusing to purchase the Here and Now version as I am a Monopoly purist. (With that said, the post-Sept 2008 changes are frustrating—$200 vs. the option to pay 10% of assets on Income Tax is frustrating, as well as the $100 vs. $75 Luxury Tax space.) The graphics are great (other than Rich Uncle Pennybags looking like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloon), but the AI is ridiculous. I had 11 hotels in my third game and the computer zipped by every one of them EIGHT times around the board. I agree with other reviewers that the AI also makes stupid trades—for example, a monopoly in exchange for a useless piece of property (two railroads to give a railroad monopoly for Pacific Avenue alone? Are you kidding??) While I'm grateful the game is finally out I simply cannot play another time until the AI cheats and stupid decision making are corrected in the next update.
