Really?!?

I had the free app and it was fine. A little banner at the bottom with ads.

Now I upgraded the app for a whopping $8 and the freaking ad is still there.

Really guys. I don't mind ads on free apps but after I pay $8 for this I should have an app that is ad free.

don't pay for the in purchase if you are outside the US!!!

Nowhere in the description of the previous versions did they specify that audio streaming and video recaps was for US only. It is was unethical to accept the $8 in app purchase for features they were not going to deliver. Now it is clear where it wasn't before, both in the app (displays a popup message instead of 404 error when trying to play video) and in the description.

So are they going to refund all the money they took from customers outside of the US without giving the promised features in return? Only now did they explicitly say that some feature were only going to be available within the US.

Also it is very annoying that paying customers have to see ads both within the app and in the push notifications it sends. I understand that free app's revenues come from ads but paid apps (especially $8 which is high in app store standards) should not display ads.

Fantastic app

The World Cup hasn't even started and the content is already great.

As for those complaining about the in-app purchase. The features you had before this latest upgrade are still there. You don't have to pay any money to get the features you had. The in-app purchase are for the additional features they are providing such as streaming audio and in-game highlights. Every other league and event has these types of features.. for a fee and for a reason: it costs a lot of money to provide them. ESPN never said they would be providing these for free.
