Anything Could Happen - EP

Robbers on High Street initially issued this EP to their hardcore fans upon the release of their 2011 album Hey There Golden Hair and have since released it separately. It features "The Letter," which, according to band leader Ben Trokan, was supposed to lead into "Happy Horses Always" on the album but was ditched when it didn't fit with the rest of the set. The tune is a spaced-out jam that shows off the group's little-noted trippy side, where the harmonies melt into the advanced sonics. The remaining tunes were recorded and mixed on weekends with producer Matt Shane. "Didn't Wanna Know" kicks up the tempo with slashing electric guitars, while "Anything Could Happen" is weightless. "Hello My Old Friends" is a barrelhouse piano number that Trokan says was written on the spot, with a slapdash horn section adding to the loose, serendipitous feel.
