Album Review

This is one of the finest albums Musique Intemporelle has produced to date. That in itself is quite a feat, since the label has been producing the best electronic music in Germany for the past couple years. Rudiger's seven original compositions on Arabesque are a blend of flawless aural textures and superb sweeping atmospheres. Like any gifted electronic music composer, Rudiger makes the spaces between the notes as critical as the notes themselves. This creates a great sense of spaciousness and drama to his music. He creates a highly appealing style of music that is sometimes hard to classify but is always very accessible. There is a thoughtfulness and depth to these songs that very few musicians achieve. Gleisberg has developed a unique approach to harmonization and soloing, with meticulous attention given to every nuance of the melody. The album is filled with a lot of skill and loving attention. Highly recommended to anyone into dynamic synth music with a penchant for world and classical influences.
