Yum
Take a human infant. Now instead of nourishing him on his mother's milk, feed him only music: old records, tapes, cd's. Surround him in 4 track tape instead of blankets. Let him drink rhythm and melody. Continue this process. Now add a guitar, a piano; let him have theory and time. In the end, there is a new form: not a man like you or me. What you have is Melanoid. Perfect...
Nothing Short of AMAZING
Melanoid's "Asleep in the wake" is absolutely flooring. Seriously every song is so good, there is not one song on the album I am not obsessed with. If I had to compare it melanoid would be a mix betweeeeen radiohead, keane, the beatles, andrew bird, fiona apple and jeff buckley. "Right" seems to be the most popular song that people are hooked on right away. But my personal favorite is Roam, it is the longest song on the album but when it builds to the climax, its so worth it. I get chills everytime. When you listen to this album you need to be doing nothing else and let the album take you somewhere else in its beauty. There is no doubt in my mind Melanoid will be a famous indie band soon.
CAN'T GET ENOUGH!
I can't stop listening to this album. I enjoy it more after every listen and hear something new each time...try it with headphones!
